Today, Luigi’s Restaurant is still proudly family-owned and operated. Every recipe, every plate and every detail carries Luigi’s spirit and our family’s dedication to quality, hospitality, and authenticity.

What started out as a humble kitchen soon became a beloved neighbourhood gathering spot, where friends, families and food lovers come together to celebrate life, exactly what Luigi wanted.

Our Story

A Family Run Legacy

Our journey began in southern Italy, in San Paolo di Civitate, where Luigi grew up with his six siblings. From a young age, he learned to cook alongside his mother, Theresa, who passed down treasured family recipes that had been shared through generations. Sadly, Luigi’s father, Rocco, passed away during this time.

In 1982, Luigi moved to Nottingham and opened a restaurant in Arnold, bringing his family’s culinary traditions with him. Years later, he had a son, whom he named Rocco in honour of his own father. Rocco began working in the restaurant at the age of 15. After Luigi’s unfortunate passing in 2009, Rocco continued to uphold and grow the family legacy as head chef.

Our Promise

Nearly four decades later, Luigi’s passion lives on. Though our menu has grown and our family has expanded, our philosophy hasn’t changed:

Fresh ingredients - We source only the best locally produced meat and the best imported Italian specialties.

Homemade recipes - From our pasta to our sauces, every dish is handcrafted with love, just like Luigi taught us.

Family tradition - We’re more than a restaurant, we’re a family and when you dine with us you become part of that family too.
